There are five different shank sized OcToBrass™.   We install a different receiver depending on which mouthpiece you use. Each OcToBrass is dedicated to specific brass instrument. Only a trumpet mouthpiece works  in a trumpet OcToBrass.  We make OcToBrass for French Horn, Trumpet, Baritone, small shank Trombone, Euphonium, large shank Trombone and Tuba.

Your favorite brass or stainless mouthpiece will fit the receiver.  Keep your OcToBrass™ and heavy brass mouthpiece down at the office and use it as a desktop paperweight. You can buzz during your office breaks.  Buzzing with the OcToBrass is a joy.  With four different ways to use the OcToBrass™, keeping your embouchure up to performance standards is a breeze.  Why?  Because buzzing with OcToBrass is fun.

Each OcToBrass comes with your favorite sized black* Kelly polycarbonate mouthpiece.  They are very light weight and extremely durable.  Their light weight is a perfect combination to the light weight polycarbonate OcToBrass.   Most of the OcToBrass™ weigh in at under 3 oz.  Perfect for pocket, purse, backpack or kayak.

*Sometimes Kelly Mouthpices are out of "Jet Black" in a certain size and we must order a different color.  Our substitute colors are usually "Crystal Green", "Crystal Clear","Ebony & Ivory Swirl" or "White Wedding."  The substitute color will be different on different mouthpiece sizes.

Chasons Music has moved toward a new one-piece receiver.   Here is an actual silver plated brass trumpet mouthpiece receiver attatched to the OcToBrass.™  We have successfully finished our two year prototyping process. We are now working toward ever higher production standards.  OcToBrass™ is Patent Pending.  We are so happy with our suppliers, Mountain Ocarinas and Kelly Mouthpieces.  They are both vital to the buzzing OcToBrass™ concept.  Great folks to work with. 

We are very proud of the newest member and largest shank size in the OcToBrass™ family of mouthpiece buzzing devices:  The Tuba OcToBrass.  The Tuba OcToBrass is very fun to play.  Our Tuba version also has the brass ring valve to adjust the  resistance.  It sounds great.  Awesome practice time with just a few ounces of weight.  Get 10 or 15 minutes of daily buzzing on your OcToBrass™ during your vacation and you will be surprise how well you can play when you get home.

Look at the beauty of this anodized aluminium OcToBrass with a sliver plated brass mouthpiece.  Your OcToBrass Kit comes with   one of 16 different light weight Kelly™ Lexan Mouthpieces to match your regular playing rim size.  If weight isn't an issue, use the mouthpiece you normally play on. 

Eventualy we will also offer an OcToBrass™ made of a sand colored Corian we call "Soft Stone" and a beautiful hard wood version.  The hard wood we use has been specially treated (stabilized) with resin which makes it impervious to moisture.  Look for these in the future.  Call me for a special order.

The bottom of your OcToBrass has two thumb holes for reaching two notes above the octive.  For musicians new to the 10-hole ocarina,  we supply two stick-on buttons to cover these hole (temporarily) until you master the holes on top. :-)  We encourage all new OcToBrass™ owners to master the scale and a few tunes (materials supplied) before attempting to buzz a tone in unison or harmony to the tone created by the fipple whistle.  It takes 30 to 60 minutes to get going with the OcToBrass.  Well worth the time and effort.
